Apple Inc., formerly Apple Computers Inc., was founded in 1976 by Steve Jobs, Ronald Wayne, and Steve Wozniak. Apple's Macintosh personal computers are some of the most popular in the world. However, Macs are not as widespread as IBM compatible computers, consequently many people are not quite as familiar with them as PC's.
